The convent of Exakoustis is situated
on a hill, overlooking the villages of Males and Christos.
The monastery is still inhabited by some nuns and can be visited.
The nuns operate agriculture and
so some products of their own production and other typical Cretan souvenirs can be purchased in a little shop in the monastery.
It is worth to make a detour to the Tavern Platanos in Christos. The lovely place at the in-house spring will refresh you.
